Gi Group’s history began in 1998 with Générale Industrielle, which inherited the experience, know how, and work methods of Générale Industrielle France. At the end of 2004, Générale Industrielle acquired Worknet Spa and DBM Italia. The year 2007 marked the beginning of its internationalisation process, with Gi Group extending its presence into foreign markets, namely in Germany, France, Poland, China, Hong Kong, Brazil, India, Spain and Romania. And, starting spring 2010 – Argentina.

Currently, Gi Group is one of the leading European service providers for the development of the labour market, operating in the fields of temporary and permanent employment, as well as complementary services.

In early 2009, Gi Group made a strategic acquisition in Romania through purchasing the majority of shares in Barnett McCall Recruitment (BMR), one of the leading HR solution providers in Romania. BMR was established in Romania in 1999 and has helped hundreds of leading companies improve their human capital processes, save time, money and increase profitability.
